Tutorial : How to root the Sony Xperia P

Tutorial : How to root the Sony Xperia P Unveiled during Mobile World Congress 2012 last year, the Sony Xperia P had somehow failed to attract much attention from the Android community due to its middling specifications. However if you happens to own the Xperia P, you may want to root the device in order to install custom ROMs as well as other root only applications onto the device. So if you do want to root your device, follow this tutorial closely on how to root the Sony Xperia P. But before we begin, I would like to warn you that during the process of rooting, there is a risk of bricking your own device. So if you still want to proceed, you’ll be doing it at your own risk and we will hold no responsible for any form of damage on your device ( please also note that rooting voids your warranty as well ). Make sure you’ve already backup your device!

 

*This procedure works only with a PCs running on Windows OS.

 

  1. Download the Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18  package.
  2. Extract the files to your desktop.
  3. Enable USB Debugging on the Sony Xperia P, by going to Menu > Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging.
  4. Connect the Xperia P to your PC using a USB cable.
  5. Execute the RunMe.bat application.
  6. On the program, select the Normal Mode option.
  7. Select the Root option.
  8. Follow the few simple steps on the program.
  9. After it has sucessfully rooted the Xperia P, reboot immediately.
  10. Congratulation you’ve successfully rooted your Sony Xperia P
  11. It’s time to flash your favourite ROMs on the device!

 

Simple isn’t it? Yeah, but even though it is simple, but do be very cautious during the process to ensure your device doesn’t brick by your mistake!
